Hello, BSC folks.

Can a BSC have different units of measures at the same display page? For example, dollar, ave, actual count, percentile..all at the same time?

I wonder if BSC is stricted to one unit only so people who see the BSC page won't be confused about the data showed to them. I have in mind that percentile/percentage unit (%) makes the best unifying unit applied to all indicators.

Any suggestion or reply is very much appreciated.

Thanks!
Monica

Hi Monica,
The BSC can absolutely have metrics with different units of measure within an individual objective. You are correct about converting all UOM's to a percentage. With all the measures converted to a percentage, you can add them up to assess performance of their parent objective.
Hope that helps?!

We will need different units of measure. Many parameters are measured in money terms, some like attrition rate or market share will be in percentages, some qualitative ones are indices like customer satisfaction. Some measures will be in time - number of days etc. Trying to convert them into one UOM will be more confusing.

Hope this helps.
