Hello!

I am trying to benchmark using the Suzano Petroquimica's Investment Matrix for Managing Initiatives. The point system is really a useful tool in evaluating every strategic initiative but I need a little help in applying it in our City's scorecard.

I made a template of the matrix (see attached file) but I don't know if it'll do and what/how would the scoring/point system work.

Maybe some of you may help me out. Thanks.

Please see our city scorecard through this link:

You may select 1 dept. Thanks!

Hi Earl...Hope it is not too late a reply for you. I went thru the CAO strat initiative matrix as also your city Score card. I feel you could do the following:
1) Gather the strategic themes under which these objectives were arrived at and populate them horizontally on the Suzano matrix
2) Populate dept strategic objectives horizontally on the Suzano matrix
3) Next populate the measures also horizontally.
4) Gather opinion from the dept Head over the weightings of the measures on the scale of 1-5 - 5 being most important
5) Gather opinion from the respective project managers and atleast one independent source on the impact scale 0-3 - 3 =highest impact
6) Multiply the importance and impact ratings and arrive at a composite total -you can prioritize departmental initiatives based on which ever project scored the highest, next highest etc.

The above method is generically applicable to all depts without exception.

Best,

Suman
